Fields drop for Sportsbet Melbourne Cup heats

Fields are out for the year’s best card of racing, Sportsbet Melbourne Cup heats this Saturday at Sandown Park.

The depth is evident and with a total of 85 nominations it meant that some good ones were going to miss out on being part of the 64 in the eight heats.

The runners combine for over $11.5M in prize money which underlines the series’ strength.

The card is also complemented by three heats of the Sportsbet Bold Trease for the stayers where Without A Trace and Ethanol Water lead the big names.
